Marketing Third Party Labels to Consumers

It seems nearly every product has several third party labels or trust marks, yet too often brands do very little, or nothing at all, to tell shoppers why their products are better because of those certifications. Certifications can go a long way to assure consumers and B2B customers of product quality, brand value and trustworthiness. Our new research sought to explore consumer perceptions of various third party labels, like USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Fair Trade Certified or Global Animal Partnership Animal Welfare Certified. It also focused on how best to communicate why those labels matter, in a way that shoppers can appreciate and value.

We conducted our qualitative research amongst a group of 25 health-conscious consumers across the USA. Our qualitative research, conducted in late 2019, had us shopping-along with consumers inside grocery stores, having a look inside their pantries and refrigerators inside their homes and virtually interviewing some others.

Our new report, Marketing Third Party Labels to Consumers, is for any brand that wants to better leverage the certifications it has worked so hard to earn.
